Ballys Hotel

On the strip, centrally located, Ballys Hotel is a long time favorite here in Las Vegas. Going back a ways, I believe it was called MGM Grand then, you might remember this hotel for its famous tower fire. This was one of the biggest fires ever on the strip. It claimed many lives which prompted stricter safety and fire codes which make todays hotetls much safer.

Ballys has changed ownerships a few times since then, and is now in the hands of Harrahs Entertainment.

Attractions

Besides the basic spa, pool, arcade and food court amenities they still have the long standing show, Jubille.  This show seems to be as old as Ballys itself. The amazing thing is they still get a crowd month after month, I guess this is a testimonial to the quality of the show. You could consider the show a classic this point.

One interesting thing they did do was add the Paris Hotel. Ballys and Paris are attached, you can walk from one to the other seamlessly. As other hotels were demolished, Ballys ownership decided to keep it as is. Building this newer hotel next door turned out to be a wise decision.

Free Shuttle Service

You can visit other sister properties Caesar’s Palace, Paris Las Vegas, Rio All-Suites Hotel & Casino and Harrah’s Las Vegas on the Strip by using the free shuttle.

Mon – Sun: 10 am – 1 am

Pick-up times are approximately every 30 minutes from each location.

Monorail Service

It’s worth mentioning that a monorail runs from the MGM Grand all the ways to Sahara Blvd., one stop is Ballys. There is a charge for this depending on what ticket you buy. The most expensive is an all days pass, it’s in the $30.00 range.

Rooms

There is nothing fancy about Ballys compared to the newer hotels with the exception of tradition and location. The rooms are comfortable and spacious, for a central location on the strip some of the package deals are quite attractive.

Being an older hotel the average rooms were built a bit bigger than the newer ones. The upgraded interiors have kept pace with what you might find elsewhere.

Again, with a lower price you can still hop over to Paris and enjoy their property while staying at Ballys.

Overall, If you like to eat at Dennys or McDonalds they are still within walking distance which makes it that much more attractive to stay at Ballys.

Many people still find it comfortable to gamble and stay here. Take into account the location and the price, it’s no wonder that Ballys Hotel still attracts a lot of visitors year round as a popular place to stay.
