Living in Las Vegas I am considered a local, one of the best local off-strip hotels is the Red Rock. About 10 miles from the heart of the strip on the NW side of town, you will find this resort hotel.

The location is right off the 215 and Charleston Blvd.
Features
They call this a resort because they want you to feel you have everything you need right there, and it’s not far from the truth.
The Pool – The pool area has the feel of a resort setting cabanas, grass hut bars, palm trees w/a quality sound system, several jacuzzi’s and private Vip areas with there own pools.

Given a little breeze and a temperature around 85 degrees, you’ll feel like your in paradise.
Kids – Your kids have some activities too. Besides the pool there’s a bowling alley w/arcade, there’s movie theaters, arcade and for the really little ones there’s even a baby sitter center.
The layout is such that the kids can go to the various places without going through the center of the casino. The Red Rock layout was designed with that in mind.
Adults – there are three night time areas for entertainment. In the center of the casino there is a circular lounge area, somewhat loud music and modernish type of setting will start you evening.
If your into the club scene then Cherrys fits the bill on this one. The entrance is near the main pool area and they have a patio that overlooks poolside, the music is cranked up if that’s what you like.
The third lounge is called Rocks, they have a live band on weekends and sometimes during the week they will alternate other entertainment.
Casino Floor – The main casino is circular with extensions into other areas, it’s filled with video gambling machines. You will find the table games circling the center of the casino. Because Red Rock is a newer hotel (2006) you will notice a difference in ventilation.
If you spent time in an older casino the smell of smoke on your clothes is evident. Not being a smoker this is a big factor to me, that’s one reason I like the Red Rock.
The owners are first class, this is the way they wanted their hotel to look and I think you would agree once you toured the property.
Rooms – The average room is nicely appointed with plasma T.V., robe and slippers. The slippers are yours to keep, the robe will cost you.
Prices are reasonable at certain times of the year, other times it seems high for being so far from the strip. If you don’t care about the strip then your trip to Las Vegas could be very enjoyable at The Red Rock Hotel.
